Alternative Health Solutions - What We Do

Your One-Stop-Shop at h2 Natural Health

Natural Medicine

Natural Health Remedies

We use safe, effective natural remedies (used by millions around the world) and recommend healthy lifestyle changes to provide solutions that recognize you as an individual.

At your initial consultation we will explain the process of your treatment and the principles involved. In order to arrive at the appropriate solution(s) we will need to discuss (in some detail) your lifestyle, diet, sleep patterns, medical history, family and much more. For this reason, your first consultation may up to two hours, although subsequent sessions will be somewhat shorter. Please be assured that all personal information is securely held and is totally confidential.

Our techniques can be used effectively and safely for all - from babies and children to adults, including women during pregnancy. Where remedies are suggested, these are safe and non-addictive and can be taken alongside prescription drugs.

Walking in Nature naturopathy

Naturopathy

Naturopathy may combine natural healing practices such as homeopathy, exercise and herbal medicine, as well as the use of modern methods like bio-resonance. At a time when modern living, environmental pollution, poor diet, and stress play a significant role in poor health, naturopathy is of increasing importance. An initial consultation may take about an hour and a half. During this time the practitioner will ask questions about the person’s condition, medical history, diet and lifestyle, and any conventional treatments that they may be taking. Once all of the information is gathered, a treatment plan is formulated that addresses all areas of the person’s life, providing the body with the optimum chance to heal itself. The treatment plan may include advice on diet, lifestyle, exercise, herbal medicine, homeopathic treatments, or other suitable remedies. We may also refer the client to other practitioners as part of an integrated health care approach.

Hypnotherapist

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is completely safe, wonderfully relaxing and can be very effective in dealing with a host of issues including stress, weight loss (including the hypnotic gastric band), anxiety, panic, phobias, unwanted habits (e.g. smoking, overeating, social media 'addiction'), disrupted sleep patterns & insomnia, lack of confidence and low self-esteem, fear of flying, fear of examinations, driving test and public speaking nerves, migraine and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).  Additionally, it has proved beneficial in pain management and with sporting, business and artistic performance enhancement.

We use Integrative Hypnotherapy that combines Hypnotherapy with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP).

Find out more about our hypnotherapy service or about training to become a hypnotherapist here. Hypnotherapy can also be provided online to clients anywhere using Skype or Zoom by h2's Hypnotherapy Online service.

Therapeutic Massage

Food intolerance is not, unlike a food allergy, a reaction by the body's immune system. Symptoms may be slower to manifest and may persist for several hours, and a person may be intolerant to a number of foods or groups of foods. Sometimes a person can tolerate a certain amount of a food but if they eat too much or too frequently then symptoms arise.

Dietary factors contributing to conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Asthma, Eczema, Migraine, Thrush, PMT, High Blood Pressure, Sinusitis, and Glue Ear in children can often be indicated by food intolerance testing. Symptoms are varied and can include headaches, low energy, tiredness, constipation, diarrhoea, bloating, nausea, vomiting, IBS, skin rashes, joint pain, dark circles under the eyes, night sweats, chronic runny or blocked nose, etc. In food allergy, the symptoms are usually predictable. With food intolerance, a much wider range of symptoms may occur which can make diagnosis more difficult.

A food intolerance consultation will include a detailed appraisal of the client's diet and lifestyle, followed by testing for the specific intolerances. Advice regarding any required adjustments to diet and lifestyle will then be provided and assistance offered to support these changes, such as nutritional advice and recipe suggestions. A second consultation will review progress and fine-tune the recommendations.

... holistic health coaching uses an integrative approach to diet and lifestyle changes to improve the client’s health.  It examines the larger picture of the client’s life to include nutrition, physical fitness, relationships, spirituality, fun and recreation

Therapeutic Massage Therapy (often described as Relaxation Massage, Rehabilitation Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Anti-Stress Massage, Sports Massage) is a great way to relieve stress and assist in the treatment of muscular-skeletal and associated problems. Regular Therapeutic Massage can improve circulatory, lymphatic and neurological functioning.

These days, given the high levels of stress under which many people live, Therapeutic Massage is not only a highly beneficial therapy, but also one of the healthiest options to improving one’s quality of life. Andrea Holbrook is highly experienced and ITEC qualified massage therapist and college instructor.

seated dance sensory movement

Sensory Movement / Dance Classes

h2 Natural Health offers sensory movement / seated dance sessions to care homes, residential homes and other facilities throughout Perthshire, Angus and Dundee. Dance is often an activity that people have to stop due to reduced mobility and balance problems. We use appropriate sensory movement (chair-based initially), music and props to explore creative ideas, enabling participants to overcome perceived limitations. Indeed, this type of fun activity has been shown to be of particular benefit to dementia sufferers. We often find staff and residents standing up to enjoy a waltz or jive, exercising the body, stimulating the mind and feeding the soul!

Walk in Nature

Social Prescribing Service

Social prescribing (or community referral) is a way for healthcare professionals to refer people to a range of local, non-clinical services. This modern approach recognises that people’s health is determined primarily by a range of social, economic and environmental factors. It addresses people’s needs in a holistic way and also aims to support individuals to take greater control of their own health.
